Maison  de Vigne Guest Book.

This was my family's first visit to France, although I'd lived there for several years previously. The house was everything I could have asked for to give them a taste of France. It's got all mod cons and the location overlooks the village and surrounding countryside which was lovely. Our girls loved their room in the attic area, real cosy! The house has such a lot of character.

The directions provided by Trevor were exact and we had no trouble arriving from Toulouse. We were kindly left a nice bottle of Limoux as well. The village is located within reach of a wealth of historical and natural beauties. Our kids really enjoyed the Dinosaur museum in the next town, and we even managed to do a day trip to Barcelona, it's that close! Overall I'd recommend this house for both a family or a couple hoping to get away from it all and relax, you won't be disappointed.”  D.F UK  Reviewed  on VRBO.com November 2017

“A tardis of a cottage, with everything you could need to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Aude Valley. Small terrace but perfectly formed! Lovely restaurants within walking distance in the next town. Peace at last......”  Reviewed  on Ownersdirect.co.uk August 2015

“We feel very fortunate to have found this lovely place for our April visit to France. Our group of four adults found the Maison de Vigne to be beyond our wildest dreams.  We were so comfortable in the spacious bedrooms with amazing views of the hills, valley and mountains. Everything was immaculate. The kitchen was beautifully equipped, and we were even welcomed with a bottle of the local sparking wine, Blanquette de Limoux! The sitting room was perfectly cozy for the four of us, busy with our books and laptops--and the wifi was certainly appreciated as we researched the area. April is a great time to be in SW France--lilacs just beginning to bloom, vineyards not yet leafing out and so striking in their architecture. From our maison we did day trips to St. Hilaire, Limoux, Rennes le Chateau and Rennes les Bains (twice there,) the medieval mountainside village of Castlenou, on to the Mediterranean town of Collioure (absolutely beautiful!) and Carcassonne. The village of Montazels is fascinating and unspoiled. We walked several times to the adjoining village of Couiza for meals and visits to the bakery. Le Carnetzot proved to be a superb restaurant.  We are grateful to the owners for sharing this beautifully restored and maintained property, and look forward to returning for a longer stay!”S.B Michigan USA. “Our family of five had a wonderful time at your beautiful French country cottage. It was all that we hoped for a step back in time, quiet, restful and with stunning views all around. Our excursions were adventurous, everything from exploring Cathar castles, witnessing ancient cave art, swimming in the Mediterranean and visiting wonderful towns like Foix, Colliure and Tauteval. Thank you for a memorable holiday which filled up our hearts”.S.L Vancouver Canada. Reviewed on VRBO.com October 2013

From Road To Rouen

In June 2012 it was  a  pleasure   to welcome the author Ben Hatch and his family to Maison de Vigne during travels for his new book about  touring France with the family ‘Road To Rouen

During Chapter 16 they reach Montazels and he describes Maison de Vigne for us…….

“We’re staying in a small, beautiful, old stone house near the village of Couiza. There’s no garden, but there’s a bench outside the front door. The kids are in bed and I’m sat here with Diana. Beyond the road in front of us, that we’ve not seen a single car pass by on, after a low wall, there are olive trees and beyond that the land falls away into a valley. There’s a folk concert going on at the bottom of it. The skyline’s lilac and the music’s occasionally interrupted by the rumble of thunder beyond the hills.  It's lovely here’ Diana says.”
